5. Subscriptions and Payments
SmartLedger currently offers a free tier. Premium subscription plans may be introduced in the future. When subscription features are launched:
- Subscription fees will be disclosed clearly before purchase
- Payments are processed securely through our designated payment provider
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
- Refunds are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy, which will be published at the time of launch

SmartLedger is a personal finance tracking tool. It is not a financial institution, investment advisor, tax advisor, or accounting service. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.

7. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and branding within SmartLedger are the intellectual property of Smart Guide Studio. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. No rights are transferred to you beyond this licence.
8. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss arising from service interruptions.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Smart Guide Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, financial loss, or business interruption.

Account information
- Name — Used to personalise your experience
- Email address — Used for account identification, login, and communications
- Password — Stored as a one-way SHA-256 hash. We cannot retrieve your plain-text password
Financial data you enter
- Transactions (income and expenses)
- Account details (names, types, balances)
- Budgets, savings goals, recurring rules, transfers
- Currency preferences
This data is entered entirely by you. We do not connect to your bank, payment provider, or any external financial service.
Technical data
- IP address — Logged for security monitoring and rate limiting
- User agent — Browser/device type, for debugging purposes
- Request timestamps and actions — For security audit logs

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Request logs are automatically purged after 90 days.
5. Third-Party Services
SmartLedger uses the following third-party services:
- Exchange rate APIs (open.er-api.com, frankfurter.app) — Used to fetch live currency rates. No personal data is sent to these services
- Google Fonts — Used to load typography. Subject to Google's privacy policy
No analytics, advertising, or tracking tools are used in SmartLedger.

- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Export your transaction data as CSV at any time from the app

2. Your Financial Data
All financial data in SmartLedger — transactions, balances, budgets, goals — is information you provide. The accuracy of this data depends entirely on the accuracy of what you enter. Smart Guide Studio accepts no responsibility for financial decisions made based on data displayed in the app.
3. Currency and Exchange Rates
Exchange rates are sourced from third-party public APIs (open.er-api.com and frankfurter.app). These rates are indicative only and may differ from rates offered by banks or money transfer services. SmartLedger makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of exchange rate data.
4. Data Accuracy and Backup
While your data is saved to our servers and cached in your browser, we strongly recommend:
- Regularly exporting your transaction data as CSV using the Export feature
- Keeping a personal backup of important financial records
- Not using SmartLedger as your sole record of financial transactions
Smart Guide Studio is not liable for data loss arising from server failure, account deletion, or user error.
5. Subscription and Billing Data
When subscription plans are introduced, payment processing will be handled by a third-party payment provider. Smart Guide Studio will not store full payment card details. The payment provider's privacy policy will apply to billing data.
6. No Financial Advice
Nothing within SmartLedger — including but not limited to financial health scores, budget recommendations, savings forecasts, or analytics — constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making significant financial decisions.
7. Security of Financial Data
Your financial data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on our secure server. However, no digital system is completely immune to security incidents. You acknowledge that you use SmartLedger at your own risk and that Smart Guide Studio cannot be held liable for any breach or loss of financial data beyond reasonable security precautions.
